LED Vase

I shouldn’t be posting this but I don’t think the person who will be receiving this gift will view this prior to tonight.

I came up with the idea while roaming the craft store looking for items to make as a gift this xmas. I wanted to incorporate something tech (blinky led) with something that would still look good when the batteries die and don’t get replaced.

So I came up with a rock filled vase with a white rose on top. Which looks good alone but I wanted something creative technical to go along with it.  Something that took more than a moment of “oh hey thats neat” and put it in a box.  So I pulled out the drill press, heated up the glue gun and pulled out the soldering iron and went to town.

At first I was thinking just a normal power on off switch led, then I got creative and made is pressure sensitive, so anytime the vase is removed from its stand it turns off.   It lacks no master power switch, but removal of the battery works the same.
